WhatsApp has the highest open rates of any channel and most companies still do not use it properly in sales. Once connected, messages land in the same inbox as email and SMS, and workflows can reply through it automatically.
Requirements
Step by step
- Provide a phone numberYou need a number that is not yet registered with WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business, and access to it to receive the verification code. A number can only be linked to one WhatsApp account at a time.
- Open the channel in settingsGo to your account settings and open the messaging channels area. Start the WhatsApp connection there.
- Complete verificationFollow the process and confirm your number by SMS or call. Set your business display name right away, this is what recipients will see.
- Wait for activationAfter verification the channel gets enabled. You will receive a confirmation once it is ready to use.
- Send a test messageOpen conversations, select yourself as a contact and send a message through the new channel. Only when that arrives is the setup truly complete.
Common issues
The number will not verify. Check whether it is already registered with WhatsApp. If so, deregister it there first or use a different number.
Messages do not arrive. Check in settings whether the channel is active and verification was fully completed.
Recipients do not reply. Note that outside an active conversation you may only message contacts using pre-approved templates. That is a WhatsApp rule, not a FinSuites setting.
What comes next
With WhatsApp running, the first workflow is the logical next step. It lets your system answer new inquiries automatically, even outside working hours.
